From runway shows with masked attendees to creative livestream and video presentations, Milanโs Spring/Summer 2021 shows thus far have been a welcomed treat amongst the turbulence of the ongoing pandemic. Although fall has just begun, LโOFFICIEL isย already looking forward to the warmer days awaiting us next year. Here, the stand out Spring/Summer 2021 trends from the top shows from the Italian capitalโs week of fashion.
UNCONVENTIONAL KNITS
For Spring/Summer 2021, designers presented options wildly different yet just as unique: some with intricate needlework and embellishments, others with attention-grabbing prints. There were even different variations of the same styles: Pradaโs distressed sweaters were adorned with carefully-placed holes, while Marniโs were perfectly rugged.

MATCHING SETS
Since the heydays of Coco Chanel and Azzedine Alaรฏa, matching sets are nothing new, but todayโs designers have kept them going strong. Spring/Summer 2021 runways modernized them by experimenting with different types of layeringโlike Sportmaxโs combination of sheer and opaqueโand silhouettesโwhether going the structured route of Alberta Ferrettiโs floral three-piece or the free-flowing route of Emporio Armaniโs monochrome asymmetrical cami and pants.

PEEK-A-BOO BRAS
Whether playing with neons like Versace or opting for an elegant black bra like Dolce and Gabbana, many were nodding to early โ00s style for Spring/Summer 2021 by showing some skin.
